When you make a booking with Rakkas, we collect the information you give us - your name, email, phone number, booking details, and any extra details you choose to share (such as special requests or the occasion) - so we can confirm and manage your reservation. Your booking is created in the venue's reservation system, exactly as if you had booked with the venue directly. We handle your personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Like most booking pages, we also collect standard technical information automatically - such as your device and browser details, your general location, and how you found and moved through our pages - and we may record how visitors interact with our pages so we can improve them. We use trusted analytics and advertising providers to measure our advertising and understand the booking experience. Where your details are used for advertising measurement, identifying information is encrypted first, and we may recognise returning visitors to make future bookings smoother.
We share your information only with the service providers who help us run our bookings, website, payments, advertising and analytics, and only as far as they need it to provide those services. Some of these providers are based overseas, including in the United States. If your booking requires a card hold, your card details are collected directly by a secure payment provider and are never stored by us. We don't sell your personal information, and we'll only send you marketing where you'd expect it or you've agreed to it - you can opt out at any time.
We take reasonable steps to keep your information secure, and we hold it only for as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires.
